Visual Artist

After graduating from SUNY Purchase with a B.A. In visual arts concentration in drawing and painting in 1997, I came to New York City and became certified for desktop publishing and graphic design. I began work as a co-manager for a high-end printing house and subsequently worked as a graphic designer for high profile clients and accessory designers. My experience working with print houses, fashion houses, copywriters, photographers, graphic designers, account executives, industrial engineers, website designers and marketing specialists informs my visual solutions to the communication needs of clients, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness. If you have something to design, paint, pour, print, etch, sew, build, smear, or mold, I'm your gal!

Specializing in Vector Design

Unlike JPEGs, GIFs, and BMP images, vector graphics are not made up of a grid of pixels. Instead, vector graphics are comprised of paths. This makes vector graphics ideal for logos, which can be small enough to appear on a business card, but can also be scaled to fill a billboard.

Handspun Bulky Textured Art Yarn Marsala Corespun with Pearls, Carnelian, Crystal

Marsala is a one of a kind art yarn that I spun. The thick and thin art yarns look amazing in finished products! Handspun corespinning is a slow spinning technique which results in the yarn looking very different from a traditional single. The fibers are allowed to wrap around a core thread at a 90 degree angle, it allows the spinner to create a very strong, soft, warm and lofty yarn. however due to the longer time it takes to create a Corespun yarn the cost is higher.

Graphic Design Corner: Craftsmanship and the Fine Arts

Toshiko Takaezu (1922-2011) lived most of her life in rural New Jersey, where she made pots, gardened, and taught ceramics at nearby Princeton University. But she was born in Hawaii to Japanese parents, and the landscapes and traditions of the world she grew up in had a profound influence on her art. In the late 1990s, I spent time talking to Toshiko about her life and work. We had met at the Charles Cowles Gallery who was representing her and I was lucky enough to be the intern at the gallery at the time.

Craft Time

My home decor line mostly comprising soulful nesting and other fine goods interweaves the boundaries of time and culture. My style brings to light the past while instilling the ultra modern, creating a look that is authentically classic. The jewelry in this collection comprises mostly of necklaces bracelets and earrings that are a precious balance between traditional decorative arts and radically fresh ideas expressing the ultramodern while creating a look that is authentically classic and reminiscent of the elegance of things past. I hold a deep appreciation for the richness, detail, beauty and workmanship of old jewelry and the associative power of historic ornaments and the classical references have been the focus of my interest. each piece in the collection has both historical and modern connections
